St. Baldrick's: Mom of young cancer survivor seeks head-shaving volunteers
Two years after Amillianna King's “No More Chemo” party, her mother continues to help other families who were touched by childhood cancer.
Stephanie King is organizing her third annual St. Baldrick's event, where she and other volunteers will submit to a head-shaving to show solidarity with children like her daughter who have experienced cancer and related side-effects such has hair loss.

Annual Shellsburg Lions Golf Cart Gala August 13
Please be sure to mark your calendar for the 1st Annual Shellsburg Lions Golf Cart Gala on Aug 13. The Shellsburg Lions along with Pearl St Social Club and Coops Roadhouse are sponsoring a parade of golf carts (decorated or not) and ANY OTHER entries. The parade starts at 5:00 pm from the school and the street dance at 7:00 pm.

Breast Cancer Survivors to meet Aug. 8
Breast Cancer Survivors Will meet Monday August 8 at 5:30 p.m. for dinner and conversation at Windsor Manor in the dining room. Fiver dollar donation for the meal. Reservations not required.

32nd Annual Vinton Cruise set for tomorrow
The 32nd Annual Vinton Cruise will take place tomorrow, July 23.
Hundreds of vehicles from all over Iowa and beyond are expected. Owners will begin arriving at around 3 p.m. when registration begins.
The cruise will begin at 7 p.m.

Waterball at night: Vinton Fire Department event set for Friday
Vinton firefighter Dennis Bramow is organizing the Vinton Fire Department's first-ever "Waterball at Night" event.
The contests will take place on 4th Street, in front of the Benton County Courthouse. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m.; the contests begin at 7.
The public is invited to come watch.
